Was browsing through my laptop and found this file - written on my birthday. I still believe what I wrote on that day. Except, situations have changed. Now, I sit here remembering the friends I got to know on my birthday but yet today we're no longer talking. It's funny how you can never tell the future. How one day, you feel like you're just floating and then later, you're just wandering - wishing things were different, wishing you can turn back time, wishing......

I know wishes don't come true.. you just got to make your own future.

Birthdays since my 21st aren't something I want to remember. I hope next year will bring me happy memories instead.

One year on.

Who are you ? What have you become? Why did you make the choices that you made? When are you ever going to make that change?

It's the 18th of July and its the day I turn 24.

Somehow, this year isnt about the presents and the surprise or the cake or the requests.

Now I can somewhat understand what celebrating with friends and family actually means.

I wasnt looking forward to what people should get for my birthday. I was just happy to spend it with people who mean the most to me (strangers who become aquaintances by making my birthday a more special one).

Yes, birthdays are suppose to be fun and memorable but for me it is also a checkpoint to see if i'm on track or behind time. What are my plans for the future and what am I doing to make things happen.

There are still so many things that I have yet to do.

So many unanswered questions.. so many unknown plans..

When you meet the crossroads of life, choose wisely.. cause you cant turn back and start over.

I want to be like zohan (johan)...or whatever his name is... “I've had my adventure, now go get yours” - such inspiring words that is simple yet so hard to do.

Sometimes it hurts when you know your life could be better if you didnt do certain things or if you did. The only thing I know is that the few incidents in my life that was totally disappointed me has only made me stronger...

But i know that I dont get what i want is because god knows whats best for me and he will show me the right thing for me.

Ubin Adventure

This morning, I woke up as early as going to work to go Ubin for cycling.
Reasons why I would do this on a SUNDAY !
1. I've not seen / hung out with my friends eversince I moved to JB.
2. I've not been to Ubin for cycling
3. Fairuz is leaving for the U.S. next week.

Well, I thought it was going to be a leisure "Cycle in the park" kind of day. Was I wrong!!!
It started out ok, until I had to cycle up slopes and go down slopes on the bike. I havent done such strenuous exercise since maybe 4 years ago!! gosh! I could actually feel my thighs burning when I wanted to cycle up the slope.

If you've been to mcritchie reservoir for a hike (actually all Singapore kids would have been to mcritchie for their cross country run), the trail that is inside the jungle... its something like that!
It was kind of scary for me too, cause I was carrying a sling bag, which btw is a bad idea! and I didnt feel "one" with my bike. Maybe cause my legs are short! hahaha.

When I got home, my knees were SORE. super sore! like, everytime i sat and stood up... I had to wait awhile for the soreness/numbness to subside..... Well, at least now I know what to expect when cycling in Ubin.

But overall, despite the pain.. haha.. I totally enjoyed myself.

Lunch story

So today, I lunched by myself cause my collegues wanted to go Vivo. Went to the canteen and bought food from the stall. I saw my favourite sotong dish and it was one of the last servings. So, got my sotong, fish and rice.. Put my plate down at the table and went to get drinks..Note: There was an aunty nearby who was clearing the table.

When I was walking back to the table, I couldnt find my plate!! My lunch was gone!! Arghh.. This is the conversation that followed :

Me : Aunty, did you throw away my food?
Aunty : Ya, I see nobody here - i throw lor!
Me : But I havent eaten that yet.
Aunty : I see nobody here - i throw lor! Nobody here what.
Me : *Sighed* (Put down my drink, turned to aunty) My drink don't throw away ah! (I walked away)

Went back to the stall, and obviously my sotong dish wasnt there anymore, disappointed that I had to buy lunch AGAIN and no more sotong.... I complained, or rather, poured my heart out to makcik.

Me : Cik, nyonya tu buang makanan saya....
Makcik : Kenape? Kene makan burung?
Me : Tak, nyonya tu buang makanan saya...
Makcik : SIAPE?!!
Me : tu...dia tu!
Makcik : Dia tu memang... takpe nanti makcik cakap dengan dia!
Kakak (serving me) : $2.50
Me : ok.. ni $2... kejap ehh, saya amik 50 sen.
Makcik : Takpe, $2 aje la.
Me : terima kasih cik !!

Somehow, I've not seen the aunty since..but i'm sure she's around. hehe

Oh my gosh, am I glad to be back here again. Long story short, I thought I "lost" my blog. haha.
See, I converted to wordpress a few months back before I left for my holiday and when I got back, somehow, I could not log in!
My password was rejected all the time. Silly me forgot that I should try logging in to blogger cause that’s where my blog originally was.
I know my previous post says that I converted to wordpress, but now I convert again to blogger. :p
But anw… doesn’t matter, now I can blog again!! Yeay!

So, there are too many things to update between April till now. But here’s my life in brief:-

1. Super- enjoyed my US trip. (Pictures are in facebook)
a. I wanted to update my blog about the trip but didn’t have connection. L
2. Had a lovely 24th birthday with 2 celebrations
3. Made new friends
4. Lost some friends
5. Got new job!!!
6. A few mini trips here and there.

Right now, I feel torn between what is good in my life and what needs some tweaking.
It’s draining me. It’s controlling me.
I feel like I need something new.

It's been awhile that I've updated my blog.
Well, apart from packing up my room for the move to JB soon, I think it's just been work and home for me. Have not been out much the past week.. ooh, except for last Friday..met up with Saada, Naf and Fairuz at Taka for dinner at Breeks.. Not surprisingly the conversation topic was about Mas Selamat. I believe every Singaporean is just wondering what ever happened on that fateful 27 February 2008 at 4.05pm. Now, the name "Mas Selamat Kastari" is on the lips of most, if not all, Singaporeans and also our neighbours Malaysia and Indonesia. Was telling them about that chain sms about the latest update on Mas Selamat. It cracked me up when I first got it. It was an announcement that Mas Selamat has escaped to Malaysia and the Malaysians are putting up signs saying "Selamat Datang". (direct translation - Selamat came / or in its original meaning - Welcome)

Last Tuesday, I went to the doctor again to get my second jab for my keloid. I must say that Dr Heng is really good. It was actually painless.. serious! And of course he used the "baby" needle for me again.. So hopefully by the 3rd time, it'll significantly shrink to an unnoticeable size. *hopeful*

After the doctor, went to fetch mum and dad from home to go JB . This is my first time to JB after the Mas Selamat escape..Security was pretty tight. They've got police officers checking the boot BEFORE immigration.. Motorcycle queue was just snaking to the BKE.. men have to scan for their thumbprint.. urrghh. I hope this incident would not be a hindrance to my move to JB soon. Oh ya, I've never seen that many coast guards on duty at the same time. there were like 5 or 6 that day.

Well, its 2.08am (Singapore time) now. Meeting Bibik, Kak Nura and Matin for breakfast in JB tomorrow morning. (IF you're reading this, please read my previous comment about going to the states :p)

Went to the doctor today to get the keloid looked at. Apparently, the snails arent really helping. It stopped working a few days after i wrote that post. haha. anw, went to the doctor to ask his opinion on what can be done. He gave me the same answer as the previous doctor - surgery or injection. But this doctor somehow isnt as scary as the one at SGH. he soft spoken and assured me that it was not painful. I asked him a few times if it was going to be painful... he said " just like an ant bite". he even used a baby needle for me - a short, thin needle.

So, I covered my eyes on the bed and waited till I felt the pain......... but there werent any! Just like he said, " Just like an ant bite" hehe. I was pleased! hehehehe.. 2 more treatments and the keloid should be gone.

But, i'm telling you - right now... it kindda stings! But, i'm really hoping it'll work. He assured me it will anw.. *hope*hope*hope*

Weekend update.

It's finally settling in my head that I'm moving. Our house just got sold a week ago and thankfully, we received what we asked for. And because of that, many things can now change :)
2008 is definitely going to be a great year.. I can feel it in my toes!

So, now we're just uncertain about where we're going to move to. :s

Met up with Fairuz last friday. I thought of watching a movie but there were none that was worth watching for me. What was hot that weekend was Cloverfield. Seriously, I'm not so facinated about alien invasions anw.. First of all, its not real. Second, its too much shooting and destruction. So, forget it. I'm feeling like watching a chick flick, like 27 dresses..... Anybody wants to watch???

So we ended up having coffee at Starbucks. Just talking. The only thing that I buy at Starbucks, or even at Coffee Bean is Mocha Latte... cause I don't drink coffee. haha. then Fairuz mentioned that mocha is a combination of coffee and chocolate. But, I feel like its more of chocolate than coffee.. I'm just reassuring myself. haha.

On Sunday morning, mum walked into my room and asked what we wanted to eat for lunch today. And, when she had that smile on her face... I knew it.. Lets go SAKURA!! hehehe. I like it, Taufiq loves it! Cause he can eat the whole salmon fish there. I'm not a big eater.. but I'm not going to waste it if we're going to Sakura! Another place i like... Carousel!

I'm leaving far a short trip this Chinese New Year. Looking forward to all those eating.... and a peace of mind.....finally, all is over and good.

Warning to those who are into piercing their body parts - Don't do it!

Many years back, I got a 2nd piercing on my both my ears. Young and brash. Anyway, a few years later, the second piercing on my right ear somehow got infected. My piercings have got infected before, but it will turn out ok afew days later. Somehow, this one got worse! To my utmost horror, there was this 'Thing' growing on/over it. Went to the doctor to find out what it is. Maybe, get him to surgically remove it or I was hoping for a miracle cream of some sort. Well, bad news. He told me, it was a keloid. A keloid appears mostly on dark skin people, commonly seen on africans and asians. The most likely areas that it will appear is behind the ear (like mine), on the chest and on the arm.

Keloids is the overhealing of a wound. For example, if you have a cut, the body would have its own natural healing process to heal the wound. The thing that heals it is called collagen. Somehow, for people who have keloids, their bodies keep producing collagen on the wound even though it has healed. That is why, it develops a keloid.

Anyway, back to my story, the doctor said, surgery is possible but there is a high tendency that the keloid will grow again and this time.... BIGGER! Yikes! (Because it is another wound) OR... he recommended to inject steroids into the keloid over a period of 6 months to reduce its size, and that comes with a catch.. he warned that it'll be P-A-I-N-F-U-LLLLLL!! ( yeay! :s)

So, I sought natural remedy. googled anything on keloid treatment, and thank god! i found this website www.abateit.com that sells creams to remove keloids. Was doubtful at first, but i saw all the testimonials and decided "what have i got to lose?" (maybe just the keloid :p)

This creams is made from snail secretion that is left on its path, which helps the skin moisturize and repair. This secretion is used by the snails to repair its shell or any damaged organs. So, i'm using it now. I'm thinking it must be working cause everytime I put it on, it kind of itches! I'm just imagining, the snails repairing it away! hehe. This cream also removes sun spots, wrinkles, acne scars... etc etc..

The universe really works in an odd way. Last night, I was told that someone is coming to view our house. I'm like "okay..sure" thinking it would just like the others. Boy oh boy was I surprised to see my old friend coming with the family. hah! I mean, c'mon out of the 4 million something ppl in Singapore, it had to be her. haha. funny.

Before she came to the house, I was at the gym class doing "total tone". (oh ya, btw, i joined a gym. an all-ladies gym. need to keep fit la. relying on myself to do runs is just never going to start! hehe. so, at the gym, at least they SHOW you how to tone certain muscles, unlike before, i just assume) urrgghh. it was really a good workout BUT, it made me realize how UN-fit I was. haha. I kept thinking that I was in my "fit" stage ..just last year.(not knowing it has already been almost 4 years!!) hehe. before reality hit me on my arms, legs, tummy, shoulders.....and right now, it feels like i was beaten up. ("its okay.. just focus.. focus! ) hehe.

Anyway, everyone's back at the office today. don't feel so lonely anymore. hehe.

going to the gym again this evening for a "Step Up" work out. wish me luck :s

Happy New Year everyone!

Yeay! It's already 2008! Year full of good luck. hehe. Went to catch the fireworks at the bay yesterday. The freakin' fireworks was only 6 mins long. Kindda pathetic. Was anticipating it to be like 10 mins or longer. Anyway, typical Singaporeans, they seem to be people who seek cheap thrills. They travel from all corners of the island and some probably have been at the padang or the bay many hours earlier to "chop" the best view ......Those who were late are seen rushing towards the bay. Pushing .. shoving and all the unruly behaviour is out on display. And so they Wait for so many hours for a 6 min show. Finally,Once the show is over.. everybody gets up and rushes again to catch the MRT home. typical.

So after the show we went to get drinks at coffee bean and finally reached home at around 2am.

This morning, Taufiq and me took a drive to JB to fill petrol and get lunch. Before we left, I asked dad to put the TV in my room. hehe. i just like to fall asleep while watching TV and While we were gone, they placed the TV in my room!!!! hheeeehheeeeheeee

So tonight, me going to sleep easy with TV as my company! :)

Hmmm... today is also the last day of my holiday. I'll start work again tomorrow but nobody will be in the office.

New Year's Eve

It's new year's eve. I guess its quite an appropriate time to just think back what you've accomplished this year. For me, I guess I overcame a few bumps and got scratched a little but still, I've pulled through and just looking forward to a fabulous new year.

My family and I went to batam over the weekend. I was there more for the food and teh sosro and maaybe...some shopping if i can find any. Batam has changed alot since the last time I was there. The shopping malls are better and bigger. I found Taufiq surprisingly shopping... cause the Tees there are cheeeaaap! (try $4.00 per Tee.) I got myself a nice Puma tee too at only $8. Hey.. before you say anything... they're the real thing ok!

It was enjoyable.

After we came back from Batam, we went for BBQ at Kak Nurwin's. Ahhh.. I've been wanting to eat some meat!! hehe. Fortunately, the weather was fine. Not too hot..

Thursday morning. Suppose to do my morning run today but I overslept. haiz. It's 10.30 am now. Planning my day....

1) Pick up books at Success Resources.
2) Breakfast / Brunch
3) Call customer
4) Send out invoice..
5) Plan for Friday..

Ok, so I got a few things on my list.
Haven't been out much with my friends lately eversince their traffic police incident. (hope you guys can work things out)
Suppose to meet Saada this week, but no plans were made. She's too busy, I'm just.... busy.

Oh well, the new year is just 4 days away. Its time to look back and think of what you have accomplished this year. Was it memorable? Was it worth remembering or was it a year you would want to forget? Was it a year you would want to live through again? Did you do something good? Or Should you be thinking back ... "why did i do that?". In any case, just make the year 2008 a blast. Make a conscious effort to make it a better year for you and those around you.

Oh, wishing all Christians a Merry Christmas and the rest... Happy Holidays!!!! I'm on leave till the 2nd.. so I'm really having a happy holiday! hehe. Just came back from JB again. Did a little shopping..With all the year end sale cum Christmas Sale cum Malayisa Mega Sale, I was just spoilt for choice! Funny thing is, I couldn't find anything that I like. The irony of it all. But, with the help of my 2 bodyguards (mum and fiq hehe) managed to help me decide on something.

Family and I took a drive down to Changi Airport on Xmas day to check out Terminal 3. It's really huge. Hopefully one day I get to depart or arrive from that terminal.. and i would probably want to spend a night at the hotel there. Just for fun.

Anyway, thats mum and me on the skytrain towards T2.

Nando's is back!!!!

Finally had our much anticipated Nando's lunch! It was yummy.. of course. duh. Just opened yesterday at Zon, JB. For all you chicks fanatics, you got to check out Nando's. The chicken is flame grilled with "HOT meter" going from Lemon&Herb to Extra Hot! The chicken is soft and tender and best of all, its healthy. Its a rainy Sunday today. Feels like I've got to head to work tomorow, but keep forgetting that I'm on leave. :) Ahh.. Went, to JB in the morning to get some breakfast and to do some grocery shopping with mum, cik ar and bik nda. Got myself a pair of slippers cause the one I have now its too worn out. Sometimes, its like walking on ice. Talks about our future and our ever interesting coffee talk about money. Not in a bad way tho, more like an eye-opening -keeps-you -thinking kind of way. I like...

Just finished creating a cookie pricelist for mum. I think its acceptable enought to get her going and start sending it out to her friends and future customers. Full Flight 2007

Went to Bibik's house for lunch today and then headed to town to get my manicure. A lil pampering I suppose before the holiday mood kicks in. I'm on leave till Jan btw. hehe After that, went to watch a gig with a friend at *scape park. Went to support my brother who was performing. It was pretty late tho, and they were the last band. However, I must say I was impressed with his band. They did 1 cover of the Foo Fighters - Everlong and the other 4 songs or so were composed by them! They are in the "FULL FLIGHT 2007" event and they need your votes! VOTE VOTE VOTE for SUSPECTED FOR DEVOTION! Butterflies

Been getting butterflies in my tummy lately. I always get that when I'm anticipating something wonderful or expecting something fun and promising. Well, I've probably figured out what. It probably is because I just bought a book in JB by Adam Khoo - Secrets of Self-Made Millionaire Investors. I have realized that by having a job won't get me the life that I want, that is why I have since dabbled into a few ventures like network marketing and internet marketing. Not all my friends are very encouraging of the fact that I'm doing things that are out of the norm. Well, for one thing, I'm not one to live a Normal life. Internet marketing has shown me an easier way to make money as compared to network marketing but now I begin to realize that Investing can really make your money work hard for you.

I am just beginning to read the book, and it talks about investing money like Options trading. Imagine doing this - You get on your laptop and buy options, you watch tv and one hour later, you realize that options prices are going up and you sell. There! You've just made a few hundred dollars. :)

I'm seriously considering this, and hopefully giving me the financial freedom I want... then, I'm moving out of the country! Hehe. But before that, I want to travel.

It's Taufiq's birthday. We went to Royal Plaza on Scotts to eat at the newly renovated Carousel. It was a wonderful afternoon to celebrate his birthday. All dressed up, we went down to the Royal Plaza to meet our reservations at 3.30pm.

High Tea was short, as we all had plans after that. I went to meet Fairuz, Pala and Helmi at Sitex. Fairuz had his car, so we decided to go for dinner. We couldnt decide where and ended up going from the idea of simpang bedok to changi village to Zion road. hah! so, we finally had dinner at Spice and then thought of watching movie, but I guess there werent any good movies to catch. Got an idea to grab some drinks and snacks and headed down to Yishun dam.

We spent a few hours there talking and decided to head home in the wee hours of the morning. Pala thought he wanted to test his driving skills and wanted to drive out of the dam. As fate would have it, as we were turning a bend to exit the yishun dam, there was a police road block! Panic!! Pala didnt have his licence yet! So, he drove towards the policeman and was told to stop. There, the story unfold that he didnt have a licence and was noted by the policemen. Got reprimanded by one of the officers and off we went. Well, to say the least, Fairuz and Pala got into hot soup. Sigh!

I finally got to taste the much talked about Krispy Kreme doughnuts today! and it sure was yummy!! No wonder those who have tasted it would vouch that it is yummy. I remembered at a SU event, someone who just came back from the US mentioned about it and I always wondered how good it is. Well, got to taste it today. DL gave me the Classic and Vanilla to taste after break fast. The moment I sank my teeth into the classic doughnut.... I knew what he meant! :)

Received a letter from Success Resources for my Millionaire Mindset seminar coming up! I'm super excited about it. Going there with an open mind to change my money blueprint. I've read his book and he mentioned that everyone has a money blueprint which was usually set by what we saw and experienced while we were younger. A quick example would be, if your parents were the kind that saved money, you would tend to that too. Or, if the people that you grew up with (mentors) always complained about money, you would think that money is hard to find and thus making you just contented with what you have and not striving for more. I know I can and will change MY money blueprint. There has been many good opportunities that came along.

One of which that caught my interest is Options trading. I went to a preview the other day by Dr. Clemen Chiang ( who came up with the "gapping method") and it was really interesting to know how these people made "easy" money. If only people knew what to invest their money in and how to play the game, you could double or triple your investment almost overnight and sometimes, literally overnight. I think everyone should have multiple streams of income. Cause, the only way to be financially free is to have multiple streams of income. If you study wealthy people, I can guarantee that ALL of them have multiple streams of income. Well, it is just like a safe guard. Like, you can't put all your eggs in one basket.

I understand that some people have reservations about striving to be materialistically rich. But, think about it, isn't being rich yourself the only way to help the less fortunate? It is only when you have more than enough for yourself that you can provide for others like your family, community and country. How can you give sincerely to other people when you yourself is in a similar situation. It isn't really about being rich and showing off, that is subjective. I don't deny that there are people who are like that but there are also many other rich people who donate to charity.

I hope people can change their perception about the rich. Don't be unhappy or envious that people are rich. They deserve it cause they did work for it.

ice cream and yum

Our much awaited ice cream rendezvous became a reality today. My cousin, K. Dian and me went to Swensens for our ice cold indulgence... Yummmmy! Nothing beats Swensens ice cream. Ben & Jerry's was nice but I liked the place more than the ice cream. Further, to pay like $20 (i think) for a merlionster which would be eaten in 10 mins is just.... hmmmm. I enjoyed my Ring-a-ding-a-ling.

After that, we went to Courts to look at some stuff. That was when I laid my hands on the new Ipod Nano Video that I have been eyeing. My Creative Zen has served me well, but, its life is just dying out. Plus, I want to watch videos on the go. The price was reasonable for the product and it looked gooood. Thin, sleek and... .oooh..jealous.

We've got another 8 days till Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Time seems to fly this year. Well, its kind of a good thing anyway. I can't wait to wear the baju kurung - simply cause its a nice colour.

Well, gotta prepare to go to bed already. Tomorrow is another day!

Survivor mode

Lesson learnt today really shows that when you are desperate and the "survivor" mode kicks in, your brain works in such a devious way. Well, I had forgotten to bring my wallet and I had just stuffed my ezlink in my bag. However, it was pay day so I figured that I will be able to draw the money and use it. BUT....... as fate would have it, I arrived at the train station with my ezlink below zero value and not a cent on me. All I had was my mobile and a cheque! Grrr... So, called mum and she couldnt help cause she was at home. Called dad and still couldnt figure what to do.. .So, while talking on the phone, I realized that the gantry for the handicapped and those carrying bulky items, closes very slowly. So, with swoop, I took out my zero value ezlink card and pretended to tap. - wala! I'm in.

- Adrenaline rush!

Now.. how do I get out? - I guess the same way I got in.
I arrived at Toa Payoh and saw a few people heading towards the gantry and so I did my same magic and got outta there! hehehe

Lets hope I don't get caught on camera.

Fireworks Festival 2007

Its been really rainy lately. Every duck's favourite time of year. Doesn't matter really cause I like it. :)

I'm in the office alone. Everyone is out of town. So, I'm mending the office for a few days. I'm feeling a little freaked out really.. I think its my mind playing games. So to keep the freakiness out, I'm playing "There you'll be" - Faith Hill. At least it kills the silence. Boo!

Well, 2 weeks ago, my friends and I caught the fireworks festival at the Esplanade. We were lucky that we got there early and managed to get a good spot to sit while waiting for the fireworks to start. I must say it was waaay better than the National Day fireworks. THAT one was an endless battle to beat the police before the cordoned off some areas... grrr!

Anyway, while waiting, we saw the epitome of love. haha well, not really but it was a perfect picture to send it to " Stories of Love" . Don't you think? :) ( hMM...it looked better in real life )

I'M BACK!

Hey everyone.. Its the start of something new for me. If you've been reading my blog, you'll know that I have been talking and fussing about my final year project. Guess what?! Its finally over and done with! Yes, today is the deadline. It's on its way to the good hands of my lecturer to read.

Well, there's so many things to update about! Its getting exciting.

Today is my 23rd Birthday.
How time flies huh... Honestly, I feel like I'm just 20 :) A big thank you to those who wished me a Happy Birthday. Thank you so much.

Well, I couldn't really sit back and enjoy the day cause it is sandwiched between exams. I had a paper yesterday and a one day break (which is today) before my last paper tomorrow. Nonetheless, mum, dad and me went to have lunch in JB. We had pasta and it was yum! I had Classic Carbonara. Cheese, beef bacon and button mushroom!

Quick lunch and we headed back home so I could continue my revision.
By the way, celebration started the night before in JB with my favourite burger ramly :) The sweetest part was when Taufiq called and sang Happy Birthday to me while he's in camp.

Anyway, it feels like a new beginning of better and brighter things ahead for me. I'm beginning to learn that I need to let go of the past and live in the now and not forgetting to thank people who have made made me happy and sad, cause without which, I wouldn't learn the lessons that I needed to learn and be the person I want to be. I'm not so bitter anymore, so thank you.

Found this website through a video on Alvin's blog. I think it's a brilliant idea! I used to surf the internet at my previous workplace but had to make the screen really really small. Sometimes it gets too cumbersome. What this website does is it converts any website to look like a word document. I've tested it and it really does the job. People who aren't blessed sitting by the wall or there is a constant traffic of bosses and colleagues walking back and forth, this is for you!

Since I haven't been working these past week due to an exam break, I have been watching the Ellen Degeneres Show every morning at 9am on Starworld and again at 9.30am on Channel 5. But here was something that Ellen mentioned on her show that I thought was food for thought. She said, she don't know why people always put off their ideas thinking that there is surely a better idea thought by someone out there, and their own idea is never good enough. You should NEVER put down an idea because EVERYTHING around you like your shoes, your clothes and seats came from an IDEA.

So think about it, the next time you have an idea, be it great or not, ACT on it! Then at least, after you have taken action, you would know how far your idea would take you to.

Since my previous post, we went for another durian fest at the seletar dam on Saturday.

So, Saturday was the much awaited 7 July 2007 aka 070707. I read that it is a really auspicious day, and in America there was an increase in the number of people who decided to tie the knot on 070707. On a usual Saturday in July the number of people who got married would be about 10,000, BUT last Saturday, it was reported that there was 38,000 who got hitched! That's an increase by 28,000. WOW! It also coincided with Live Earth. The global call for aid . That was why I am seen wearing green in the pix.

I have started my leave from work cause I have exams starting next Tue. It will be my last 2 papers. So, I have managed to drag my butt to the study table to go through the papers.. By the way, It's accounting. Well, ok I didn't exactly dread it. I mean it will be the last time that I have to mug for a paper and it will be the last time that I have to sit for a school exam. It marks the closing of 16 years of formal education!

I got distracted from mugging, that's why I'm writing this post.

Saada has been well since her surgery last Thursday :) She's hole-y now. hehe. Going to meet up with her this week to do some revision.

Well, going to spend some more time on the pc and continue with my revision. In the mean time, I came across this vid of a kitten, and she looks like the cutest thing. Enjoy!

The 4th of July + Durian Fest

Its the 4th of July and I was invited to a "4th of July" makan-makan at my workplace. Every year, 4th of July would only mean fireworks at the nearby naval base for me. Its a night which would be spent at home because I get to see fireworks from my house. Well, in Singapore, the only other times that you get to see fireworks would be National Day, New Year's Eve and 4th of July! :) So, anyway, we had an All American meal from burgers to mac and cheese which was yum btw.

I think I ate too much mac and cheese, thus I was stuffed! Seriously.. Full. Bernice made chocolate cake and ice cream which yummy too but I was too full...

So I met Mum at Kallang to head home with my aunt. Somewhere near home, they decided to look at some durians and guess what??....... My aunt bought some and we decided to eat it under the block! hehe - Adventure-

Picked Dad up from home and we settled under the block at my aunts place. To think that we could actually eat at her home! hehe Still, brought down water and tissues and newspaper so that we could have a more comfortable environment.

A Truly Inspiring Story

Her name is Ladan Lashkari, and when I say she’s a young woman, that’s an understatement. At just 20 years old, she has a youthful look that defies the maturity she’s developed in such a short time.

I suppose in the online world, youthful success is not entirely unusual. The fact that she’s a girl making money on the internet becomes much more significant when you realize where she comes from. She lives in Iran. Ladan was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and lives there to this day.

There are political, economical, and religious obstacles that make it difficult for anyone to be a successful internet marketer in Iran, and in most cases even more difficult for a woman to do so.

With respect for Ladan, I’m not going to get into the details of the specific political and religious barriers that many women face in Iran, but just be aware that this story runs even deeper than I’m able to write about.

If internet marketing was a wrestling match, she’s starting the competition with one hand tied behind her back simply because of the place she was born into the world.

Next obstacle: the language barrier.

Although you wouldn’t know it from her articles and sales letters, Ladan was not born into an English-speaking family. She started learning the language at eight years of age, and devoured every English book she could get her hands on.

Even at such a young age, she began to realize that her fluency in English would open up more doors of opportunity throughout her life. Throughout her teen years, this fervor grew as she tackled the language head-on.

A true entrepreneur, she decided that she wanted to become independent and produce her own income. When her family bought a computer, she quickly began experimenting with ways she could turn it into an income stream.

She tried all kinds of business; teaching Windows, graphic designing with PhotoShop, website design, and even learned C++ programming.

Even though she was able to make money through those avenues, she knew that there was a bigger opportunity out there.

At sixteen years of age, she discovered the world of internet marketing through the late Cory Rudl’s website. She bought and studied his internet marketing course, along with other ebooks and resources.

She knew right away that THIS was the business she wanted to be in.

Her friends and family tried to convince her that becoming a successful internet marketer in Iran would be IMPOSSIBLE, and that she shouldn’t continue to waste her money. If you’ve ever faced the negative energy of friends and family, you’ll understand that it’s a powerful force that can quench your enthusiasm and ultimately abort the launch of a new business.

Fortunately, her father believed in her, and the resistance of others made her more determined than ever to find success.

After about a year of learning and studying the business, she launched her first website, and the rest—as they say—is history. But that history has not been without its fair share of bumps and valleys.

Jumping into business forced her to take her English proficiency to a new level. For a long time it was difficult to read and comprehend the many technically-oriented ebooks that she acquired.
And if reading comprehension was a challenge, writing was an even bigger issue.

It would take her six hours to write and proofread an article, but her determination paid off. Today if you search for her name on a search engine, you’ll find a slew of her articles indexed all over the internet.

And as if writing weren’t enough, she wanted to write her own sales copy. Anyone who’s ever successfully written a sales letter will concur that being a good writer doesn’t make someone a good copywriter.

I’m amazed to say that Ladan is a good copywriter. Being a copywriter myself, I wouldn’t say that if it weren’t true. She applied the same vigor to learning the craft, as she applied to learning the language itself.

She studied articles and courses from the top copywriters, and practiced until she had developed her own style. While there is obviously some innate talent at work here, I’d say that she is also a testament that copywriting CAN be learned.

Starting her business was the beginning of a long uphill battle.

Because of the US embargo on Iran, she faces obstacles that most of us wouldn’t imagine. As I mentioned, her culture has already tied one hand behind her back. The language barrier effectively tied the other one. And the following problems essentially tied her feet…a situation that would cripple most marketers and paralyze them from moving forward in business.

Most people wouldn’t jump into a new business with their hands and feet tied. It’s impossible, right? Just don’t use the word “impossible” around Ladan…

To start with, she couldn’t get a credit card. That makes it pretty tough to buy anything online, wouldn’t you say?

My business relies on my credit cards for many things. Not a day goes by without several business-related charges to my credit card. As I think about it, many of the products and services that I use come from sites that ONLY accept credit cards.

She can’t open a PayPal account. Again, this limits her ability to make online purchases. It also rules her out of participating in a large number of affiliate programs that only pay commissions via PayPal.

Of course probably the biggest disadvantage of not having a PayPal account is not being able to accept PayPal payments. She estimates that this one issue is costing her many thousands of dollars in lost sales.

She can’t get a merchant account, so it becomes very difficult to sell anything online.

She can’t have a bank account in US dollars. So that rules out another possibility of making or receiving payments.

To make matters worse, she can’t have any bank account that accepts wire transfers. This cripples her ability to receive payments from affiliate programs to her bank account, or from merchant services for her own products. So even if she can find a way to sell a product online, getting that money into her own hands is a huge obstacle.

She can’t cash any USD checks. That rules out most of the other affiliate programs.

She can’t travel. It’s almost impossible for her to get a visa to travel outside of Iran. This means that she has not been able to go abroad to attempt to open up accounts, and she can not attend any internet marketing seminars.

Those are just some of the barriers created by the embargo. There are many more limitations imposed by the Iranian government.

On top of these physical barriers, she also faces another kind of discrimination that continues to this day.

In a business built upon online image and perceived trust, she has been severely disadvantaged by the way much of the world views Iranians.

As she puts it, “the reactions are not very pleasant.”

She thinks it’s mainly due to the way the media has portrayed Iran and Islam. This has made it difficult to be open and build relationships online, as she has found that even her own subscribers, customers, and business associates look at her differently when they discover she is from Iran.

She says, “some people even act like I am a terrorist”.

She has received “hate” emails through her websites and also on forums.

“I know who I am and where I stand,” says Ladan, “but what the media shows the world and what my country’s government does has nothing to do with me. So I just wish people in the west – especially the United States - would understand this difference.”

Let me ask you a few questions…

Do you have a credit card?

Do you have a PayPal account?

Can you open a US bank account?

Can you receive US checks?

Do you have the freedom to travel?

Could you go to an internet marketing seminar?

Maybe you didn’t answer “Yes” to ALL of those questions, but for EACH question you answered “yes” to, you are starting one step ahead of Ladan.

Let me ask you a couple more questions…

Are you fluent in English?

If you said “Yes”, take two more steps ahead.

Do people view you as a terrorist?

No? Take three more steps ahead.

If this girl can do it, so can YOU. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are…it doesn’t matter where you live in the world… it doesn’t matter what other internal and external factors are trying to hold you down.

You CAN succeed.

In spite of all her challenges, Ladan views internet marketing as an easy opportunity to take advantage of, and she encourages others to do as she has done…

“I think there’s nothing hard about it. It’s the perfect kind of business for people who want to be independent and work for themselves in a business that there’s no limit to your success.”

If you’re just getting started, she has more advice:

“When you are just getting started, you should know it might take some time to make the amount of money you expect, and you should keep on and don’t give up - no matter how people around you try to disappoint you. I think this is the most important and difficult part… it’s where most people give up.”

In the three short years that she’s been in business, she’s worked hard and implemented many strategies that she’s learned by studying other successful marketers.

Out of everything she’s tried, she deems list-building as the most important component of her business:

“Nothing is more powerful than building a targeted responsive list and building a relationship with that list.”

While her income may not yet be on par with the internet marketing superstars, she’s earning a living online that would impress even those of us living in a more generous economy (she recently earned $6300 USD in a month).

The thing that must be kept in mind is that she is making more money than about 95% of the people in her country, and bringing home more income than her countrymen who have 30+ years of experience in their careers.

I’d love to see what she’d be capable of achieving outside the restraints of her county, and so would she, which is one reason she is considering a move to a locale more conducive of her business—such as Canada or Australia.

She says the biggest key to success is: “Believing in yourself, and promising yourself that you WILL reach your goals and won’t let anything or anyone stop you.”

When I asked her what makes her different from those who fail, she said that her success is derived from her persistence in facing and overcoming challenges and obstacles.

She points out one of her favorite quotes from Ross Perot:

“Most people give up just when they’re about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown.”

When she’s not working on her business, she enjoys reading self-improvement books (who would have guessed?), dancing, watching movies, spending time in nature, and going out with friends.

In other words, she’s just a normal girl with big plans and an indomitable positive attitude.
Today she has more than 20 websites, and she hopes to expand her business by 400% while continuing to help others find their own success.

Is network marketing dead?

There are a lot of people out there who are still unaware that network marketing has made some people rich and free. They are either ignorant to the fact that people are actually making money through network marketing or they turned a blind eye to it. Either way, they have not been exposed to enough information about network marketing. Although, I must point out that there is no get rich quick scheme, but there is a get rich quicker scheme.

Network marketing has been around for quite awhile and it has been getting larger and more lucrative every year. However, with the internet, there is now internet marketing. It is similar to network marketing, but it just uses the internet to reach out to the buyers. Network marketing or internet marketing is like having your own mini business. A “Plan B”. It is easy to set up and has low running costs as compared to the traditional “brick-and-mortar” business. The appeal of low costs and low maintenance attracts business minded people who want to try their hand at a business.

It is imperative that when setting up your business, you will need to provide value for money products or services to your buyers. This creates a trust and buyers are more likely to recommend you to other potential buyers. As you and I know, word of mouth advertising is very powerful. So, be sure that you do a good background check about the company that you want to partner with. Ensure that they are credible and will not shut down their business tomorrow. It is an added bonus if they have a physical office in your country so that they can provide you with the support needed.

The best part about internet marketing is that, you have the ability to create you business and watch it grow all in the comfort of your own home. There is no need for you to go for meetings and meet clients or prospects, because with internet marketing, the prospect comes to you.

Don’t get easily despaired if you don’t see success in the first few months. Just keep trying and tweaking what you are doing. Evaluate what is right and wrong. You don’t expect to lose weight after one day of dieting right? Same thing here. Have a goal and a plan to work towards it.

Why aren’t you getting traffic from your articles?

What is the point of spending a good amount of money for ghostwriters to write articles for you or even painstakingly spending 30-40 minutes writing your own article when people won’t read it anyway?! Well, the fact that you are reading this article means that you are aware of article marketing and just trying to find out why people aren’t reading your articles and not getting the traffic that you thought you would get.

This is actually a common problem. I have come across internet marketers who said that they have tried marketing using article marketing/ ezine publishing, yet there is no significant increase in traffic. It could be something not quite right with their article or their method of submission is not right. The benefit of article marketing is that, the writer has the ability to pre-sell their product to highly targeted traffic. To have a higher assurance that people will stop, look and click on your article, here are a few key points to take note.

1. The article has to have a catchy title. The kind that would make the reader intrigued enough to read the content, yet not give it away that you are promoting something. A title like “Why aren’t you losing weight?” would likely be clicked at more than something that says “10 ways to slim down”.

2. The body is just as important. The opening statement has got to be an impactful and interesting one. Write about something that gives knowledge to the reader, something that people are interested to read. Don’t deviate from the topic and write something irrelevant.

3. Don’t forget your resource box. This is the most integral part of your article. Although it isn’t part of your article, it is a separate body but this is the part that will lead the reader to your website. Ensure your link is there. Do write in third person, as if someone else is writing the resource box for you.

4. Finally, you will have to submit your article to directories. I would recommend that you submit them to at least the top 5 directories; ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com to name a few.

Busy update

It's been a pretty busy week for me. Work is fine but preparations for my final dissertation just started! Yikes! If you have not read my previous post about my dissertation, well, I was going to write about the "Impact of the Internet in businesses and lifestyle of the future". If you have got any ideas, please let me know :) I met my project supervisor a few days back and he agreed that the internet HAS revolutionized how people behave and how people are actually making money online.

Why Ezine marketing?

Many internet marketers, which of course include affiliate marketers, get lost in the sea of options that they have to advertise their product. I am sure for any newbie, it would be very confusing and can get very frustrating because they might want to try all the methods but would not get results as their efforts are not concentrated. Other methods of exposing or advertising your product are by Pay-Per-Click, forums, blogging and email marketing to name a few. I suggest that you concentrate on ONE method first, get good at it before going on to try another method. So why ezine marketing?

Ezine marketing is to write articles about a particular subject of choice and then posting in ezine directories. The fact that you have found this article means that you are aware of directories but maybe you are just unsure of its advantages.

First, you can increase your target audience. The people who are reading your articles might already be interested in you subject field and thus, you gained their attention. Alternatively, someone new in the subject might find your article interesting and thus be more interested about you and your subject.

Second, is the exposure that you will get. Posting your articles in directories would mean that the whole world could potentially read your article. That’s just about Everybody, isn’t it?

Third, you can promote yourself through the resource box. It can introduce you as an expert in your field and it is free! Free advertisement! People will have more trust in your product that you have to offer if they can get to know a little bit more about you. Sometimes, if they can relate to you, they would most likely buy from you. Having your link in the resource box, points the reader to where you want them to go.

So, try ezine marketing for at least a month, writing 2 articles a week and posting the articles to at least 4 directories if not more. Then look at the results that ezine marketing will bring. Good Luck!

Blogging is now very commonly used by teenagers, stay at home mums, business and even politicians. It is essentially an online diary but it has evolved to serve more purpose than just and online diary. It is a powerful tool on the internet, apart from SEO, PPC and other marketing techniques. However, when abused, it can get the blogger (the writer) in trouble. For example, a teenager was arrested in Singapore for making racist remarks on his blog.

Blogs was used by many to write their rants and raves, their daily lives or anything else that they fancied. Some are anonymous; while others have their full profile on for anyone to read. The anonymity gives some bloggers the freedom to write about anything and not be judged by those who know them. For example, a quiet and shy person could find blogging as a way to escape as they can write about anything that they felt, which no one knew about.

People who blog for business have a different purpose from online journal bloggers. Blogs give them the flexibility to talk about their business as compared to a website where the contents are fixed are purpose driven. When they have a blog for their business, it gives the human touch to the readers. Readers can relate to their experiences and may want to take interest in the business. Even when members of the same company/affiliate have blogs, it would be a way to differentiate one from the other. It is like their identity.

However, it does not mean that when you blog, “that’s it! I’m going to rake in the money!”. Blogging is just the first part. After which, you need to expose your blog. I would recommend submitting your URL to as many link directories as possible. To do that, just go to any search engine and type “ add URL”. Another method recommended is to submit your blog in blog directories. Also, some bloggers use link exchange. This just means that you place the URL of the other blogger in your blog, and vice versa.

I met Sa'ada today to share (or rather..copy) notes. It happened to be that the lessons that I attended..she didn't and vice versa. So now that lessons are over, we needed each other's notes to complete our coursebook. :p Went to 7Eleven cause she wanted to buy the Straits Times but what caught my eye was the Berita Harian. I saw a familiar face.. it was Dr Irfan Khairi.

Let me help you with the translation. It says "Learn from the Millionaires". I have his book. He is Malaysia's internet expert. He invested RM$500 which is about SGD$225, and of course with some hard work, he is a millionaire today! He is coming to Singapore to give a talk during "Sidang Perancangan Kewangan Berita Harian 2007" ( Berita Harian's Financial Planning Conference 2007) with the theme "Think Rich, Be Rich". Together with other successful people like Adam Khoo, Ms Christina Chia for Napoleon Hill Associates, Singapore and Mr Marc Leong for Maybank.

I personally think that it is a good move by BH to hold a conference like this so that it gives more exposure to the people and especially the Malay community that it is actually possible to make lucrative income from the internet. I am certain that there are many people who are oblivious to the fact that there are more millionaires made today, and they are getting younger, because of the internet. Let's face it. The internet will be an integral part of our lives in the near future. Basic chores like checking your bank balance can easily be done through the internet today and even buying airline tickets is done through the internet. People need to be aware of this and move with the flow. If they are resistant to change, they will get left behind.

When we get selfish

I was briefly surfing the web before fetching my brother today when I came across a website where you can adopt an orphan. Well, not really literally. But what you will be doing is to sponsor their daily needs for a month at a price. What struck my heart was that they are such young souls with nobody to shower them love and devotion - and to add salt to the wound, some are in war-torn countries which mean the government would not have their welfare as one of their top priorities.

Sometimes you need a "slap on the face" to wake you up from the comfort that you take for granted. Where shelter and food is not a daily struggle - makes you wonder how fortunate you are. These kids have nothing and what they can rely on is the hope that someone on the other side of the world would be kind enough to sponsor their daily needs.

I don't think people are cold to put a blind eye on these children but most just do not have the extra money to support these kids. Wouldn't it be beautiful if each of us could sponsor an orphan? It only takes 36 euros to sponsor one kid. Thats like close to SGD$100? Isn't that what kids here spend on their handphone bills? Or a pair of jeans? Or that spunky shoe?

Are kids in "modern" cities ignorant or just turning their backs on poverty that is very present in many parts of the world. I think kids in modern cities have become selfish and self-centered.
What happened to giving..sharing..?

I hear many people who do think that they do not want to have alot of money because they feel that they have enough for themselves. I think that's narrow-minded. Think about it... what about giving back to society? Providing for other families and children. Life isn't all about YOU. If YOU have enough for yourself and YOUr family...what about YOUr community/society? Enough?

Success from Basics Part 2

We had a mini get-together learning session at my place yesterday. I shared my knowledge on blogging. I felt that it was great cause now I know they have more information to do something about their blogs. So, all the basics of blogging - from creating a post to getting traffic was done. I know how frustrating it must have felt for them - not knowing the "how to's". They had the will and I had the way. Perfect!Tho I must say, I admire their strength and determination to learn because they are not familiar with the internet (not internet-savvy), so learning how to blog could be an uphill task. It was okay for me that we spent close to 6 hours to go through the basics cause what was important for me was that they understood.

We have decided to have another session on the 17th of June. Hey I'll show you the links of their blogs, see what they have been up to! :)

I had a pleasant surprise of receiving a comment from Deagan on my previous post about him :)
Anyway, I wanted to make a few comments about a few good things that happened for me in the past 2 days or so. Firstly, was the comment that I got from Deagan :) It was unexpected.

Second, today marks the end of my night classes for my uni. I have been attending classes every Monday and Thursday ~ 7 - 10pm for the past 3 years. That's 36 months, 144 weeks, 288 classes that I've been to and 364 hours that I have committed ~ on the average. I heard a sigh of relief in my mind because there were many things that held me back due to classes. Things like, yoga classes, OIH's training and the general relief that I don't have to worry if there is class tonight. Now, 3 years have gone, I'll just have to worry about my final dissertation and I'll graduate. Thank God.

Third, and I hope not the last, was that I've got the highest blog views today! :) :) :P
And it's because I've put them in the blog directories. It has helped alot.

Then again, I think the good comes with the bad. Well, I upgraded my blog template to accommodate the new version of blogger and I wasn't aware that ALL my page elements would be deleted!!!!! Now, I have the newer version, but all my links and other stuff that I have there are gone! (So, this little note goes out to anyone whom I have linked with and now your link is not there... Please let me know. )

Today is Farah's birthday. I had this idea of making her a snow globe as her birthday present. I had done my research and I was sure I knew how to create one. So I went to Spotlight down at Plaza Singapura to get the necessary materials. Sat down at McCafe and got down to making the snow globe. Guess what... it wasn't snowy and it isnt a globe! hahaha take a look.... I felt so bad. :( I wanted something hand made but it turn out wack!

But I walked away with a lesson.. You can do all the planning - detailed and to the T but if you didn't get down to practicing it and putting the pieces together before the "show", you can never guess what can happen! and more often than not, it will not turn out the way you want it! Look what mine turned out to be!!! haha like a spidey jar! Oh dear.... haha It was fun making it tho... and just so you know.. the liquid in that jar is not water... its Baby Oil..... and it's expensive!!!! hehe

So, its the same in internet marketing. You can do all the planning, all the notes taking and all the listening.....But if you're not going to practice what you were taught or learnt, you will not know what the result might be! you might find it easy or sometimes it can turn out to be hard. But the bottom line is.. you got to try and then keep practicing! That's all to it!

A date with Deagan

Had a "date" with Deagan last night with like 149 other people. :) Deagan Smith, the King of Never Calling a Single Lead came down to Singapore for the first time last night! He was telling his story, back from when he just started dabbling in internet marketing and everything before that. It was pretty amazing. When I heard his story, I knew I could do the same too cause he was just an ordinary person like you and me but the only thing different was that he had an EXTRA ordinary dream. That was it! How can something that trivial, yet powerful, be the difference between someone who is successful and the person who...... isn't quite there yet!

He gave statistics about Success University and how you can work on the numbers to increase your success rate. That gives me a better perspective as to my next short term goal. (I've written it all down). I think he will be the best person to guide someone in their SU business. To think that he's only 26 and earning a little over $50 000 a month is something! Don't you think?

I also learned that listening to motivational audio is good for the mind. It's food for the soul and mind. Everyone needs it, just a matter of whether they know they need it or not. I'm going to expose myself more to these mind food.

I'm going to create my story.. my success story...... and I'm on my way!

Piece of Cake!

Running your own home internet business is a piece of cake, right? You've probably heard how easy it is to rake in tens of thousands of dollars practically over night, and how you can have all kinds of "free time" and extra cash for traveling and shopping at your favourite store.. Just throw up a website, add a few affiliate links, post to some forums and presto - you're in the money!

But the reality is this. If you want to succeed in your own home based internet business, whether it's affiliate marketing or selling your own products, you will have to work at making it successful. You have to make it your job to succeed. You must treat it as your job, not as your hobby. It's great to think that with just a few easy strokes you'll be running on auto pilot, bringing in loads of cash and then on to the next venture. But without some simple planning and consistent effort you're setting yourself up for failure.

Went to McRitchie reservoir recently with the family. Was suppose to be a nice, long walk. But it ended up to be too long a walk! :) We actually walked 11km so that we could see the Treetop Trail! And it was too far for comfort. Here's a pic of my achievement upon reaching the treetop BUT.. don't be fooled by the smile..the path that led me there was an uphill one. Not for the faint hearted!

There were interesting things that I saw, like this trail of ants. It's like a 4 carriage-way! And the ant trail was like a few metres long...

So, we started from 9am till noon. My feet was screaming by the time I reached the Treetop trail. The uneven gravel was not accommodating! Boo.. Yes, I'm complaining. But then again, I lost 1 kg after that walk! Maybe should do it again in 2 weeks!

Law of Attraction - What about?

Recently, the Law of Attraction has become a buzz in the community. Almost every other person knows about “The Secret” or the Law of Attraction, although it’s advertisement does not reach mainstream readers. However, no one can really explain how it works. The experts have talked about it, the ideologies and the reasoning, but for a melancholy or someone who needs detailed explanation, can never be satisfied with what was said. In short, the Law of Attraction is that you get what you think about.

If you focus on the negative side of life, like debt, family problems or relationship problems, in other words, you’re just too preoccupied about your problems, and how you are the disadvantaged one, then that’s what your life will attract for you. If your mind is focused on the positive aspects of success, that you have money, and that you’re focusing on your positive achievements, then that’s what will come to you as the result of your positive mental efforts.

Thinking about your future in the present tense is important; not the future and not even the past. You must be able to see yourself in the circumstances you envision yourself in.

Putting your desires into the future tense creates a barrier of expectations to overcome. It’s all too easy to think of the indeterminate future as being too far away to influence or matter. Saying “someday” you want to get out of debt and become financially secure, you’ll remain mired in debt and in your current state, unless you actualize it into the present tense.

While the Law of Attraction seems like hocus pocus, and revolutionary, it’s built on the same techniques that sports physiotherapists have used for training professional athletes – to visualize the outcome of what they’re doing and act as if every shot, every pitch, every swing, every basket, is made perfectly with a pure follow through. Furthermore, the Law of Attraction has a lot of anecdotal evidence you’ve already known. Has there been something in your life that you always felt was destined to happen, that you’ve always felt “would be”? This can be as mundane as believing and assuming that you’d graduate from high school, or as inspiring as believing that you’d always date the person of your dreams and make a happy life together. Thinking about these goals in the present tense removes the barriers to achieving them, and lets the Law of Attraction work for you, and is a common illustration of the law of attraction in action in personal development.

Ultimately, you’ll get what’s on your mind – that’s what the Law of Attraction means. Make sure that what you’re attracting to yourself with your mental outlook is a positive influence, rather than a negative one. When you think negative thoughts (even when you talk negatively), you bring negativity into your life.

When it comes to working online many people choose to promote one affiliate program or another. In essence it seems like it would be easy to do; sign up for a program and then get your referral link seen in as many places as possible, unfortunately more often than not it’s a lot easier said than done when it comes to getting others to join your chosen program.

Visit any of the traffic exchanges for example and you’ll no doubt see the same program being promoted by hundreds of different people, the odds of someone randomly clicking on your link are probably slim to none. Too often people join a program and then expect things to just happen for them after doing nothing more than adding their link to a traffic exchange or forum etc, so they quickly become frustrated when they don’t earn any money and either give up entirely or try the exact same methods with a different program.

While there is never any guarantee that you can recruit others into your chosen program there are ways to improve the odds a little by giving people a reason to want to click on your referral link.

If you want your promotion to stand out above the others you can try some of these tips:

First and foremost be honest: No matter where you are or who you’re talking to, don’t give false promises, you’ll be a lot better off if you build people’s trust by speaking truthfully about the program.

Create a blog (www.wordpress.org) or squidoo lense (www.squidoo.com) etc and give people a reason to want to visit your affiliate program. Write blog posts discussing different aspects of the program and then link them to your referral link. People are often more inclined to click on these types of links if there is a personal touch.

Write articles and post them to the many free article directories etc. Don’t write them with the view point of selling something, write your articles to be honestly helpful on your chosen subject you can then add a link back to your blog etc in the authors box.

Find related forums and other social sites and make yourself known to others in your field: add your link to your signature line. If people appreciate the advice and other information you offer in the forum they will take the time to visit your link. Make sure you don’t just post and run though, you may quickly be viewed as a spammer and not only banned from the forum but discover people will purposely ignore any links you may share.

These are just a few tips, if you combine some of these with your usual efforts such as traffic exchanges and safelists etc you may soon see an increase in not only traffic but sign-ups as well.

A new survey says that women are the worst at office cleanliness

Women may appear the fairer sex, but when it comes to cleanliness at work their desks are seven times dirtier than those of male colleagues, according to one of the world’s leading experts on workplace germs.

Dr Charles Gerba, a microbiologist at the University of Arizona, believes that the average office desk is host to 400 times more germs than the typical lavatory seat. He says that our penchant for plonking purses, handbags and make-up bags on toilet floors is increasing the bug count on many womens’ workstations. Inside the desk drawers, he says, matters are even worse. Stale make-up, old plastic cutlery and long-forgotten lunchtime snacks make many womens’ desk drawers a haven for potentially harmful bacteria and help to give female office workers an overall bug count seven times higher than that of the average male.

He says: “We found that women seem to have more stuff on their desks generally — family photos and the like — and these can act as germ-transfer points when they are repeatedly handled by employees with a cold or with unwashed hands. When you add to this that handbags are often walking ‘bag-teria’ in their own right, it appears that women’s offices and desks are often not nearly as clean as they first appear.” He adds that men are not blameless when it comes to office bacteria, either.

Dr Gerba’s research finds that far from being the “babe magnets” they aspire to be, many men are walking germ magnets and he points the finger at the average manly wallet as routinely crawling with beasties and bugs. Researchers at Arizona found that mens’ wallets were the single most bacteria-laden item in any office and were, on average, four times as dirty as a woman’s purse.

Dr Gerba’s “Germs in the Workplace” study has found that the office phone is home to about 25,127 microbes a sq in, and an office desk surface itself will usually play host to 20,961 microbes. Keyboards carry about 3,295 germs a sq in, followed by the mouse, fax machine and photocopier. The average lavatory seat used by both sexes is home to just 49 germs a sq in.

Virgina Tech Massacre

Was reading about the Virginia Tech Massacre today in the Straits Times. It is totally unpredictable how someone can be. To think that he was a quiet young boy, who would have thought that he had a darker side that was hidden who would have the audacity to go on a rampage that killed 32 people and injuring 29 others before committing suicide.

Cho Seung-hui born in South Korea was a loner. Several former professors of Cho have stated that his writing was disturbing and he was encouraged to seek counseling. He had also been investigated by the university for stalking and harassing female students. In 2005, Cho had been declared mentally ill by a Virginia special justice and ordered to seek outpatient treatment.

Cho's motives for the killings remain unclear. Early reports suggested that the killing was the result of a domestic dispute between Cho and previously alleged girlfriend Emily Hilscher,who was later revealed to have had no prior relationship with Cho. During the investigation, police found a suicide note in his dorm room, including rants about "rich kids,""debauchery" and "deceitful charlatans" on campus. On April 18 2007, NBC News received a package from Cho timestamped between the first two murders and the rest of the massacre two hours later. It contained an 1,800 word manifesto, pictures, and 23 digital videos. In the videos Cho compared himself to Jesus Christ and expressed his hatred of the wealthy.

Cho probably did not have exposure to self development, even as a child. If he was exposed to it, he could have probably changed the way he responded to other people's actions and would not resorted to this rampage.

Science of Getting Rich

I was reading this book recently and it really strucked me. It is simple and to the point. The book is called the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. I just thought that I'ld share some of the good stuff with you.

Ok, now getting rich is not decided by your education, location any other external factors. It is in fact, just the way you do things. If you think about it, if richness is dependent upon location, then EVERYBODY in that particular location would be rich. But that isn't the case, isnt it? You will find a mixture of poor, average and well to do people in one location. And of course, education has been proven not to be the deciding factor because there are many wealthy people who are millionaires. To name some are, Bill Gates and Robert Kiyosaki. ( Robert Kiyosaki even said, "To be rich and happy, quit school")

Anyway, if you find that you are in a certain business and all your fellow partners are making money and you are not, its not because they have more money/capital than you - if that was the case then they didnt have to find ways to make money right, or if they knew more things than you. It is actually just the way they did things. It is for sure that if you do exactly what these rich people do, to the tee.... you will be as wealthy as they are. Guaranteed!

I was just thinking about what my friend said the other day when we met at UYMG. We were schoolmates, or rather, classmates back in secondary school. I saw him on friendster a few days prior to UYMG and noticed that he was dabbling in internet marketing as well. Apparently, he has a company with 2 of his other friends ( who are my schoolmates as well ).

It was great to see friends you knew, way back then, who are making something of themselves. Entrepreneurism! Anyway, I was mentioning to him that it is not common to find people who are interested to make that extra income online. I mean, it doesn't matter, you can be selling stuff or offering services. But, most people are still skeptical about it. I don't know why. What struck me was that he said something like " Don't people see that the Internet will be a part of our lives soon ? The government has already placed wireless internet all over the country. " Don't you agree? If the government has already made steps to place wireless internet for FREE in main city centres, doesn't that mean that the Internet will be integral part of our lives. Isn't that the direction that we should be heading towards as well? Right now, many are already going out with their laptops or pda's to stay connected. And, knowing Singaporeans, what they are mostly interested in is making money. So, why not make money on the internet?

It's such an interesting topic that I'm going to write my final dissertation paper on it. How comfortable will non-tech savvy users be when daily routines like checking bank balances will be automated through Internet banking and no longer updating passbook? Or, who knows there wouldn't be newspapers anymore? All will be in online. Can they handle it?

Growing Your Business Online

Growing your MLM business online is going to become VERY popular over the next few years. As more and more people figure out how simple it is to build HUGE organizations using online mlm strategies…there will be an influx of network marketers escaping the network marketing rat race.

Taufiq's Passing Out Parade

3rd April 2007 marks the end of my brother's Basic Military Training at the Home Team Academy. It made me look back, 3 months ago when we sent him there to go through the BMT. And now, 3 months on, he's passing out. It's pretty fast! How time flies ... and when you don't take action in the time that you have today, then time is just going to pass you by....

Anyway, there were around 400 graduates that day. The picture only shows half of the graduates. I was, of course, excited. There was an award ceremony where only 15 was awarded. These were those that excelled in their role and duties. Taufiq was one of them, he was awarded "Best Trainee" :) So proud of him .Here's a short video of him about to take the award :

Mind you, my heart was pumping so hard as if I was the one getting the award. I was Just too EXCITED for him.

Hey!

Finally, my mini marathon is almost over. Just came back from my paper 2 today.
I actually didnt really study for it cause I didnt have that much time during the days at UYMG. The funny thing was, I had to answer 2 out of 4 questions. So, ideally, to be certain that I could answer it all, I needed to know 6 essays. BUT, I did only 3 (2 at night and 1 on the way to exam venue). So, as I was at the exam hall, practicing my Law of Attraction, very hard! haha Trying hard to focus on what questions I will see when I flip over the question paper. I don't know if it really is the Law of Attraction or I was just lucky.... TA DA! As flipped it, the 3 questions that I studied for were there!!!! WoooHoooo~~~~

Ok ok. Luck doesnt happen all the time. Need to study for my next paper.......

UYMG - Day 3

Just came back from UYMG Day 3. So it has been intense learning. Seriously, I'm getting a headache. Oh yeah, not forgetting that Tuesday is my Final year exam paper 2. Talk about being busy. Not been this busy since like many years ago. ( If I had it my way, exams don't matter anymore! haha but that's just wishful thinking. Dad would "kill" me if i did ) But, its okay. I learned how to FOCUS. :) And you know what, it helps. Days prior to UYMG, I was almost freaking out. Thinking, maybe I should postpone my exams, but, after learning to focus and handling one thing at a time, its really not that big a deal.

Anyway, among MANY other things, I learnt how to generate traffic. I mean, any internet marketer would know that to make money you got to have traffic. Well, learnt a whole lot about that today. What? What you say? Share la ? Hey, no such thing as FREE lunch isn't it? But, there's FREE internet in Singapore. Huh? How about that? Have your own internet business.

Ok now, got to do some homework. Have another fulfilling day tomorrow.

Wow! When Jaz said that Stephen Pierce was his favourite mentor, now I understand why. Stephen Pierce is amazing. Amazing with a capital A! Tonight was the first time that I met Stephen Pierce in person at a workshop.

He has the rags to riches story - homeless for 3 months, shot in the leg (with the bullet still there - as a reminder of the past), no high school diploma, losing money in investments but, that don't matter now cause he's a millionaire. How did he do it? That's the part that he is going to teach. Step by step, inch by inch, click by click - and I'm going to be there. It still hasn't sunk in my head yet that I signed up for the 4 day seminar which costs S$1997. But, I'm excited!

Use Blogs to Increase Link Popularity

So how do you use blogs to increase your link popularity?

First of all, bloggers can benefit one another by exchanging links with blogs that have similar content and themes. Both blogs get increased link popularity as a result.

Second, blog directories abound. At last count, I was aware of more than one hundred blog directories. Every one you list your blog in gives a boost to the link popularity of your blog.

Third, blogs tend to be search engine magnets. Because of the frequent updates, tightly "themed" content, and lack of graphics, they are ideal "spider food". Combining that with the incoming links from other blogs and blog directories, blogs tend to get higher page rank than do conventional websites.

It is as or more easy to get decent Page Rank for a blog than for a traditional, static website. Once that has been accomplished, you can "transfer" some of that PR to your main website.

This is done in several ways. One is to maintain a static link on the template of your blog, so that it appears on every page. Additionally, you can use the individual posts in your blog to do some "deep linking" to some of the interior pages of another website, giving them a PR "boost" in the process.

Ordinarily, most links go to the home page of a site, but unless that site is very carefully structured, that PR doesn't "spread" to all of the interior pages. By linking from your blog to those interior pages, you give them link popularity and PR they wouldn't ordinarily get.

If you do nothing else, exchange links with other bloggers, and list your blog in the major blog directories. You'll be amazed at the results ...

A great way to "spy"

This a great way to see up to the second how the latest visitors to your website are using the search engines to find your website, and then magnify them to see how they used your website. Recent Visitor Map, will show you a map of the world and where your visitors come from. Recent Visitor Activity displays and lists in great detail the most recent visitors to your website. These are among the many things that they have. The best part is that it's FREE with no ads on your website. Don't we all love free stuff.

The Pursuit of Happyness

Yesterday, met up with my friends again. It was great! Haven't met them in months. Been to busy. I had a good time nontheless. I guess sometimes you need friends to keep you centered in the midst of all the madness.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was about the movie we watched, "The Pursuit of Happyness", based on a true story. (I highly recommend this show.) Really moving. Teaches someone, that when there's a will, there's a way. Together, father and son struggle through homelessness, jail time, tax seizure and the overall punishing despair in a quest that would make Gardner a respected millionaire. It's really worth a ticket!

This movie is based on a true story. There is a real Chris Gardner and he was featured in the Reader's Digest.

Are autoresponders really necessary?

Everybody who knows about the internet would agree that it has revolutionized the world. Users are communicating at light speed, its almost immediate. One good example would be business users now use emails as opposed to postal mails because information is passed on immediately, thus making any transaction faster.

Since internet users are communicating at such a fast speed, you would not want to hesitate or delay any response to your potential customers. These people might already be interested in your product or services.

To overcome this, you need an autoresponder.

Autoresponders create the ability to immediately acknowledge any request or support needed. At the same time, it helps to accumulate email addresses.

Without an autoresponder, you have to take over tasks such as respond to enquiries, filling up credit card information and confirmation of purchase, to name a few. If you are not willing to do it then you have to hire someone else to do the job for you. This of course would be extra costs and lead to low quality of service since there is no immediate response.

There are a few autoresponder prgrams out there, from free subscriptions to paid ones. However, I do recommend the one from Ultimate Marketing Center. It has all the necessary programs that you need to run your own online business. Purchasing an autoresponder program would be recommended as opposed to the free services as they might attach their own advertisement to your email response.

Therefore, if you are serious to make money through your online business, you need an autoresponder.

Friday, I'm in Love

Its the weekend again! How fast time flies huh? I remembered last friday like it was yesterday! By the way, when I opened my email this morning, I received an email with the subject "Account Notification Alert". To my pleasant surprise, it says.... "Your card with Success University has just been loaded.Thank you and Have a nice day" hehe Sprinkling sugar to my already lovely Friday.

On the way to work this morning, my dad was telling me his good friend met a gentleman from USA. He said that in America, there are many, literally thousands of network marketing companies. I'm not surprised since MLM/Network marketing did start in America. However, one important point that he said was that, "If somebody were to approach you with a new network marketing business, JUMP on it!" It is when the company is new and in the formulation stage that someone should decide to be a member and take advantage of the situation. Once the company has reached its stability stage like many famous MLM companies, it is more difficult, though I wouldn't say impossible, for members to make as much money as the company project.

Need I say more, Success University has only been around for 2 years. Go figure!

What the numbers show

Tho I am not putting down any of the companies listed above, I'm merely listing the facts. If you read the legend, Success University has the highest daily reach among the 5 most popular MLM companies in Singapore. The difference is, the other 4 companies, Amway, Herbalife, Nuskin, Venture Era are selling physical products and they have to do the normal routine of cold calling, showing the plan, meeting PV's and BV's, meetings after meetings, with no certainty of the amount that one will earn each month. It isn't certain until they reach a certain level where they start earning royalties.

These 4 companies are Multi Level Marketing/ Direct Selling. MLM's have reached their peak and momentum in its life cycle. The momentum is not there anymore for newbies to make as much money as projected. Tho it is not impossible, but it is an uphill task. Why take the bicycle when you got the train right? I've been there, done that. Was in a MLM for over a year and with full force, I attended ALL meetings, met the monthly PV requirement and of course showed the plan whenever I could. Being a phlegmatic by nature, I wasn't too thrilled to be showing plans and calling up strangers. I had deseprately wished there was an easier way to building my mini-empire, meaning no calling, no showing plans.

Anyway, 10 months down the road of showing plans and all that, there was no returns and I was running out of money and time. Not too worried about the money but I was losing time. I was 21 and hope to NEVER work for a corporate company by the time I end Uni. At the rate I was going, I was not going to achieve that. I slowed down, and fortunately 3 months later, I came across Success University. I was excited the moment I saw it. My wish came true. NO Calling, NO showing plans and I could get returns twice as fast!!!! Was that fantastic or WHAT!

My uplines in the other MLM used to tell me, don't lose your dream. Well, I'm proud to say that I didn't lose my dream, I just found another vehicle. Yeay!

Now I'm back on track to building my own business and not forgetting NEVER to work after I graduate.

Much to my disappointment, today is the end of the much awaited long weekend. :s Honestly, I've been waiting for this holiday 4 weeks ago! Hah. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the long weekend since I could recharge and spend time at home. Went to Johor Bahru on Sunday for lunch. A busy weeks awaits me. Work, lecture, tutorials, exams.......etc. There will be no workshop this Thursday, which means I won't be torn between lecture or tutorial. Psssst... Let me tell you a secret..... I've been leaving lecture halfway throughout the lesson to attend the workshop. Hee. This madness will end this July when school ends. Wish I could look so relaxed like my niece here....

Wealth is the number of days you can survive forward if you stopped working today. It is known that over 62% of the worlds population cannot survive 3 months, 5 weeks, 10 days or even tomorrow. Its a scary thought isn't it? What about you? Have you thought of your plan B? In this world of uncertainty, anything, I mean ANYTHING can happen that you have never thought of. Things you thought that would NEVER happen to you, might justcatch you off guard and "attack" you from the back.

Downsizing, recession, natural disaster, economic downturn or even accidents. Think about it, if in the unfortunate event that you are involved in a car crash, what is going to happen to your livelihood? Is your company still going to pay your salary out of compassion? NO WAY!

Even if you hold one of the highest post, if you are no longer valuable tothe company, they WILL dispense you. So then, if you are the sole breadwinner, what happens to your family? Life has to go on, but must it be dependent on your situation?

These are the things that people don't usually think about because theyare comfortable in the "security" of a job. (Don't even know if "security"is still valid in the context of a job). But WHAT IF? What if things don'tgo as plan, do you have a plan B? Internet marketing could be your plan B. It doesn't take up much of yourtime while you're building it, it doesn't costs so much and the best partis it is residual.

Build a Plan B even if you don't have a reason. Build it anyway.

Yesterday was the 2nd launch in JB, Malaysia for OIH. It was my first time to the event and I was quite surprised to see the number of attendees that actually turned up for the event. What's admirable was that some of the attendees actually came from all over Malaysia. Some from Kuala Lumpur, some from Negeri Sembilan. Thumbs up to the Malaysians that came down yesterday! :)

I just want to highlight what Success University has done for me eversince I joined 3 months ago. Through Success University , not only did I manage to learn more about building myself as a person; by taking courses on eating better, leadership, speed reading to name a few. I am beginning to change the way I think about myself and other people. Also, I am beginning to manage downfalls better and learn how to focus on what I actually want in the end. Though it takes time and effort to change your mindset, at least I know I am a changing person for the better. While learning all these on personal development, I've successfully earned USD$1000 in my first 3 weeks of business! Hey, any girl can do with an extra USD$1000! :p

Anyway, although the money looks good, it is the priceless knowledge that I should treasure the most. Because, money can come and go, but knowledge can't. Someone or something can steal money from you, but they can't steal the knowledge that you have learned.

No Coke in McDonalds??!!

My friend, Zilah, and me decided to have lunch at McDonalds yesterday, and I was eyeing the Prosperity Burger Meal. So, Zilah went to place the order while I went to the post office to post my loan application for school. When I came back (ready to gulp ice cold coca cola), she said, "McDonalds isn't serving Coke today, is Ice Lemon Tea okay with you?". How ironic is that? Contrary to popular believe, did you know that McDonalds does not make as much profit from its burgers and fries, as it does with its beverages. To think that they should actually be more aware of the maintenance and stock of its fizzy drinks. Urgh.

Speaking of McDonalds, I read an article in school the other day that McDonalds made its first monetary lost in 2002. This was mainly due to the fact that there are other up and coming food outlets that are serving healthier food with better ambience. Food chains like Subway, Coffee Bean and Starbucks have the laid-back yet classy ambience, which youngster are more attracted to. McDonalds have the stigma of being a "fast food restaurant", which means that their food are not for the healthy concious and it appeals to the masses. That is why, recently,McDonalds tried to improvise their image by serving side salads, fruits and emphsizing how healthy their bugers are and also diversifying into McCafe.

However, due to the stigma of a "fast food restaurant", McCafe is still not well received and one outlet in Chicago had to close down. Even giants like McDonalds face problems of their "phase" or "time" being overtaken by new rivals. Their customers are not attracted to the idea of a "fast food restaurant" as they would have many years back.

The same idea with traditional network marketing and internet marketing. Network marketing is likeMcDonalds now, where it is facing difficult times to cope with changes. Their phase of "money-making" period is almost over and thus the rise of internet marketing. Internet marketing is like your Starbucks today. Servicing a new breed of consumers who have different tastes when it comes to having lunch!

There are a few key factors that need to be considered before you can do an effective email marketing. There are 7 simple factors to look at. When applied properly, it can change the way your emails are written.

The first step is to personalize the email.Personalizing your email either in the body or the headline would capture the attention of the reader. This reduces the probability that they will delete the email as spam. With the vast amount of spam that are sent out every week, it is not surprising that an impersonalized email would be regarded as one. Statistics have shown that over 40% of emails received every week is spam, thus, it would be rather important that the email you send is personalized.

Second, do not "sell" your product/service/website in the title.It would be better if you could create curiosity. With curiosity, the reader would most likely open the email to see what you have to offer. One example of a heading that is “selling” your product is ‘Learn how to earn income online’. This way, the readers already know what the content is about. Most likely, if they are not interested to earn income online, they would delete the email immediately.

Third, do recommendations. Recommend the product that you are selling like you are recommending a movie to your friend or family. It is unlikely that you tell them everything that was shown in the movie right? Therefore, recommend the product like how you would recommend a great movie, just the necessary. Provide the necessary information regarding the product. When readers are well informed, they are more likely to buy your product.

Fourth, format your email to improve readability. Readers are not in favour of long, chunky emails. It gets tiring to read those emails and before they get to the end of your email, they would probably have clicked the “next” button. Thus, it is recommended that you truncate your emails to many short paragraphs instead of a few long ones.

Fifth, is to create a story.Readers are more inclined to read stories as compared to cold hard facts. Although what they wanted to know was pure information, but they rather read it like a story. With a story, boredom doesn’t usually set in and thus, they are able to complete to read your “story”.

Sixth, let the readers know what they have to do. When there is no ‘call to action’, readers do not know that they have to do certain things, like signing up to your newsletter. Thus, place your ‘call to action’ at various places in your email. An example of a ‘call to action’ would be, “ To subscribe to my weekly newsletter, click here www.yourdomain.com”

Lastly, always get feedback.You would want to feedback from your readers as you want to encourage them to respond to you. When readers respond to you, you are creating a valuable lifetime relationship. Readers who are familiar with you would begin to build trust, only then, they would buy what you are selling to them.

What you should know about domain names

Domain names would be one of the first things you should do when you have an internet marketing business. A domain name is like a brand name, address or an identity to your website. It has to be unique, concise and memorable.

Good domain name is preferably memorable. One that is memorable would be those that you can remember even if you saw it once, many years ago. It is also understood that if your domain name is memorable, it would be more likely that users would type in the correct URL in their browser.

It also has to be unique, because, you would not want your users to confuse your domain name with that of another, especially if it were your competitors. So, be clear about how it would look and sound like. One point to note is that, there are many other domain names that end with the extensions, such as .net, .biz, .tk and so on, but the .com domain name is one that is prevalent in the internet. If, for any reason, that your domain name is one that ends with other extensions like .biz, make sure that you make it memorable by capitalizing the extension. For example, if you have an address like domainnames.net would want to make it more obvious by displaying your address as domainnames.NET . This way, users would be more likely to remember that it ended with .net instead of .com. Being memorable helps to bring more visitors.

When your business is progressing more aggressively, you may want to consider buying a domain name that is wrong as well. For example, your URL could be www.domainnames.com , however, some users may remember it as www.domainname.com , without the‘s’ at the end. You can then direct the users who typed the wrong URL to your website.

Your domain name should reflect what type of website that you have. No point having a website about cars but your domain name says something like www.goodseats.com . The further away a domain name is from whom you are or what you do, the more likely it is you won't have great success in marketing.

You can register for a domain name at www.GoDaddy.com. They have a good range of domain name extensions and you can use their smart search if you have difficulties in deciding what domain name is the most unique, concise and memorable.
